It's litterally been YEARS since anything about another Vetta has been mentioned. With the success of the AXE-FX and the so-so interest of the SpiderValve, I can see why.
But what I really want to know...
What will take it's place? Even VOX backed out of their BLACK DIAMOND model 2 NAMMs ago...
Somebody's gotta make it right, make it good, and please...MAKE IT SOON ! ! !

The SpiderValveMk2 may have a fraction of the bells and whistles that the Vetta has, but it sounds much much better. Sometimes less is more. I own both HD's and there really is no comparison between the two tone-wise. At this point I am only keeping my Vetta on hand for band practices at our rehearsal space. I play the Spider for all else, including recording chores. Time to move on and not look back...

I've been kind of jonesing for the SVmk2 BUT
I really like having a stereo amp and I really like having two amps at once. I really think for clean and medium gain stuff it makes for a much more detailed and basically larger sound.
Maybe, like you, I'll just have to have both...

I own both! I just can't afford to get rid of the Vetta. At the very least it makes a great bedroom practice tool. I just got a SVMKII. Jury still out. This sucker seems alot louder than the MKI. Buc maybe you should just settle for the MKI I have for sale!

G.A.S. sucks - big old mind fnck. As far as I'm concernced, there's no need to get rid of or replace the Vetta. Hell, I'm still using the original Flextone XL; I wouldn't buy another XL, but given what the Vetta is capable of and what I can get out of it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Vetta backup if I had the cabbage.

I have a Vetta and the original Spider Valve. If I had to give one up, it'd be the Spider Valve. I'll admit, I've been curious to hear the SV Mk II. I know it has more effects and tweakability, but does it sound THAT much better?
BTW, within a year of gigging with the original SV 1x12, most of the knobs have broken and some effects turn themselves on of their own free will. Not good.
My Vetta on the other hand comes to my club gig every Thursday night and has been working perfectly for well over 6 years now. And the bottom line for me is that it sounds a lot better than my SV afaic.
My advice: hang on to your Vetta, gents!

Yeah, but isn't that really something like your 5th Vetta Ernie?
Hey, how come you can't talk that bass player of yours into letting you play on a CSI: NY episode? Seems they have bands on there a lot and it would be some good extra income for ya!

I'll keep my Vetta for a backup just in case. If the MKII has to go in the shop, the Vetta goes back into action. I hope I have the same reliability that the Vetta has had for me. We shall see.
There's nothin like a wide spread. |

Yeah, if Uncle Ted can do an episode of Miami Vice you could do an episode of CSI. Maybe he'll let you be the corpse? That would look good on your resume: "Corpse #1". Of course nobody ever really listens to bass players so maybe he doesn't have that much swing on the set

Let's not exaggerate Craig; it's my 4th Vetta. And actually, my third Vetta was working fine before my external speaker jacks and ohms switch came loose, fell inside and shorted out the circuit board.
Well, now that I think about it, the power amp in my current Vetta blew out at one point. Luckily, the shop I went to had an extra one in stock and I got the amp back the next day. But pay no attention to my trials and tribulations; I think somebody put a "gear curse" on me years ago.
As for the band playing on a CSI:NY episode; well, they did something like that once. Three band members happened to be in LA (yes, it's filmed in LA, not NY) while they were shooting an episode and made a cameo appearance as musicians in Mac Taylor's band. They weren't actually playing (and I have no idea what music was used), but... well, that's probably the closest they'll ever come to having the Lt. Dan Band on the show.

| You're title is wrong; it should be "The Vetta is DEAD, Long live the AXE FX". Too bad Line 6 didn't continue the evolution of the Vetta, if they had I'm sure they would be giving Fractal Audio a run for their money... |

Hey guys, been a long time hasn't it! Gosh, it's been years since I've been to Andy's website and looked at these forums. But I have kept up with Andy over the years since we both work for Line 6 these days. This will be my only post, then I'm outtta here again (for many more years probably - LOL)...but I did want to give a wink and a nod that Line 6 will be "the" company grabbing the attention of players by years end. That's all I can say which may still be too much. Anyway, does any amp ever truly die...
Cheers, Nathan |

Nathan, great to hear from you. So the speculation begins. Speculation 1. Nathan chose a Vetta thread in which to post this teaser. So, it must be amp-related.

Of all the gin joints in all the world...
I've lamented at what went on here and the marvel that was the Vetta users community. I would love to have gear to be excited about again. Thanks for the tease, Nathan. Let the speculation begin... I'll wait for the headlines.
